Release dates and pricing unveiled for Samsung’s new, impressive range

5Earlier this month at IFA Berlin, Samsung released their new range: the new Galaxy Note 4, Edge, Gear S and Gear VR. Samsung announced last Tuesday the release dates for each of these incredible products.

Over your earphones falling out of your ears and getting tangled? Then the new Samsung Gear Circle earphones are for you. Magnetically locking around your neck and vibrating when you’re receiving a call, these will be available in Australia late October.

The Note 4 is set to be available in Australia from October 29, with a pre-sale from October 15, while November 5 sees the highly anticipated Galaxy Note Edge up for sale.

If you’re ready for the move into wearable technology, the Samsung Gear S will be available in Australia in November.

And finally the Samsung Gear VR, which works with the Note 4, will be Down Under in November. It comes in at a reasonable $A249. Pretty amazing for virtual reality gaming!

Say hello to GoPro 4!

6It is expected to launch sometime around October 8th, and there are three – that’s right, THREE models to be released – the Black, Silver, and a new base-model – the HERO.

Black will be waterproof for up to 40m and have full 4K video shot at 30FPS – double the previous model. The Silver won’t feature this, but what it will have – and for the first time, is a built-in touch display. As for the HERO, it may be a low-end, base model, but it is perfect for the GoPro beginner or anyone who just wants simplicity and ease – and not to mention far cheaper!

Microsoft reveals Windows 10: Start Menu, we missed you

7The first update since Windows 8 – the widely-considered failure, Microsoft announced Windows 10 on Tuesday in San Francisco, marking the next key advancement for Windows and the homecoming of the Start menu.

The latest software will run over a multiplicity of Microsoft devices and is being called their “greatest enterprise platform ever.” Windows 10 will feature customizable live tiles in the new Start menu — who’s removal in Windows 8 was one of the biggest criticisms of 8, and the experience is said by Microsoft to feel “super natural” to Windows 7 users.

Windows 10 may just be Microsoft’s greatest chance at re-engaging its most imperative client: enterprise.

Windows 10 will be available in late 2015.

In the news: Four young hackers steal over $100m from Xbox and the US Army

8On Tuesday the US Justice Department charged four members of an international hacking ring, with “cyber theft” after breaking into the networks of Xbox and the US Army to boot copious amounts of software and intellectual property worth $US100 million up to $US200 million.

Two of the four, aged 18 to 28, pleaded guilty and are suspected to have stolen Apache helicopter training software, Xbox One and Live technology and pre-release copies of games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Gears of War 3.

The Department of Justice also claimed an Australian man faces charges here as it is believed he has a connection with the four hackers. Although he was not named officially, he has been identified as 19 year old Perth-based Dylan Wheeler.

For those who plead guilty to the charges: a single count of conspiracy to commit computer fraud and copyright infringement, they face up to five years in prison.
